It is accurate according to the measurements given in the pokedex. Anime and manga vary the sizes a lot.

I'm not sure how completely accurate it all is but it's pretty cool to look at.

Charizard is 1.7m and Yveltal is 5.8m though... What looks like two Charizards in height is supposed to be over three. But eh, not overly important. It's pretty cool to look at. Seeing Waillord's scale compared to everyone else is crazy. O.o

The values given in the pokedex I scale as such:

If the pokemon is snakelike I assume "height" means "length"

If the pokemon is spreading its wings I assume "height" means "wingspan"

If a pokemon is just standing up I assume "height" means "height"

Great!!
Finally someone who understand how animals (and so pokemon) are mesured, I'm tired to see those kind of picture with Ekans and Venusaur at the same height just because they have the same data in the pokedex...

Otherwise, this pic is really cool! It's both nice to see and very usefull.
Thanks for the work !!

How is it possible for mewtwo to be that big compared to mew o.o
Reply
:icondelkie:
Delkie Featured By Owner Dec 31, 2013
He's always been that big compared to Mew. Even in the anime movie, he's the size of a large human, whereas Mew is about the size of a small cat. The 'Dex entries say that height measurement is pretty accurate, too. Mewtwo measures about 6'7", and Mew is 1'4".

I mean, he is a genetically engineered clone of Mew, not the direct offspring. His DNA was horribly spliced and tampered with, so his much larger size probably has everything to do with that.

Hm, I haven't watched the movie in a while, so that's probably why I've forgotten. Mew is still adorable like that though. >w<

It surprises me how large some pokemon are (Pidgeot) and how much smaller some pokemon seem to be (Tyranitar)

Lol, and then we get people complaining that there are too many Pokemon.

For those of you who think there are too many Pokemon, try to do what DOTBstudios has done here with every animal in existence.
...No? Thought not.

I was sort of bordering on the thought that there were too many. I think because they started releasing them at such a fast pace.
Geez. Now I just want them to make even more.

I'd like to point out that Groudon is actually the largest Pokemon to-date. Therefore, Wailord is accurate, but Groudon is not. Groudon is actually LARGER than Wailord.

Groudon is larger than Wailord in the anime, and that's because the anime is trying to treat Legendary Pokémon like Gods. Oh, and I recommend staying away from Wikia. They don't care about information and teamwork; only money and advertisements.

Technically acording to Bulbapedia Groudon is only around 11 feet tall whereas Wailord clocks in around 47.

Groundon is the heaviest pokemon, but is not the tallest. That honor still goes to wailord.

^This. Plus, Gyrados would look small in that shape; squiggly lines tend to cover less space than straight lines. :)

This is pretty cool and inventive! :D

However, some Pokémon are slightly off in height, Gardevoir looks about half a foot bigger than Gallade here.

I know that but Gallade still looks only about 4'11. Pokémon seem to have odd measurements. Both Swampert and Greninja are 4'11 and both of them are crouched. Meaning when stood up they may be about  6 feet tall
